We answer a few of your most frequently asked questions below:
How much of my donation directly supports Remus Horse Sanctuary?
Rest assured, the complete exchange value, plus an extra 5%, goes directly to Remus Horse Sanctuary. Leftover Currency do not deduct any fees or commission. Upon completion of your donation, you will receive a confirmation email specifying the amount contributed, and they will share this information with ourselves.
What types of banknotes and coins are accepted?
You can contribute any foreign or domestic coins and notes. Leftover Currency exchangeable currencies page lists the currencies for which they provide exchange rates. For those not listed, they will determine the exchange value based on numismatic value, bullion value, or scrap metal value—whichever is higher. To facilitate the process, it helps if you can sort and count your currency, but if you’re unable to do so, don’t worry they’ll handle it for you.
Is there a cost to me for donating my leftover currency?
There is no cost to you other than the postage to send your leftover currency. You will require a printer to download the form. If you are sending a lot of heavy coins, we recommend a good quality jiffy bag or similar. Please do be sure to weigh you currency at home or at the Post Office to ensure the correct postage is applied.
Leftover Currency recommend using a recorded/tracked delivery service such as Royal Mail Signed For. You can also self-deliver your currency, either to the Datchet office (address located on the form) or to their central London office, located near Oxford Circus on the 3rd floor of 207 Regent Street, London W1B 3HH.
Do I need to register with Leftover Currency?
